Atachafalaya Basin Swamp in Louisiana ~ Alligator Walking

This alligator was around 8′ long. They swim under the debris in the swamp, then come up and hide with their eyes above the water, waiting for lunch. It was on the move as we approached.

Three hours back in the swamp, the land gets lower and the water is covering more.  It was amazingly beautiful and peaceful. For six hours we didn’t see anyone, except the alligators.
